A Medal for Leroy

This is the story of Michael, a young boy growing up in London after the Second World War. Michael doesn't remember his father, an RAF pilot shot down in the war. But then his aunt gives him a medal and a photograph, which begin to reveal a hidden history. A beautiful and poignant novel inspired by the true story of Walter Tull, the first black officer in the British army.

    THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST STORIES I'VE READED SO FAR AND I FOUND T VERY INTERESTING AND A BIT SAD.

    It was moving, funny and full of suprises! I loved this book. It was sad but enjoyable. Me and my friend Lydia enjoyed it thurally.
    I wish it would never end!

    I LOVED THIS BOOK! believe me when I say that.Partly because I'm a little bit of a drama queen (maybe!) I think that it is perfect for me as I love history.

      I totally agree!One of the best books EVER!So sad when his antie/grandma dies.I can't believe he had five dogs called Jasper.
      I still don't know wether to vote for this or Fizzlebert Stump...AWKWARD! :-)
      This book is epic! Everybody should read it!

    I loved the end bit because it was really happy and he knew a lot about his dad if I were him I would want to know about him from the start

    this book is a heart warming book that is based on a true story best book EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    5 star definitely I love it such a good book I recommend it to higher primary but apart from that it can be read around the globe thank you

    I really enjoyed the book cause its kind a boy book because its about WW2 and WW2 is amazing just like the book

    its got a really good story line because its set in WW2 and its really good so i recommend you to read the book. :)
